Oscar Apfel's Barn

The Barn where "The Squaw Man" was filmed in Hollywood.
It was directed by Oscar Apfel. Cecil B. De Mille was the assistant.
That's why he sent this famous telegram back east:
Flagstaff no good for our purpose. Have proceeded to California. Want authority to rent barn in place called Hollywood for $75 a month -Cecil

While C.B. was sending telegrams and procuring Barns, Apfel was directing the movie. However, when Apfel died in the 1938, Cecil began to erase him from memory. Now it is The De Mille Barn. SOOOO Hollywood!
